Half-Life Speedrunner KaNanga sets new World Record

Half Life was released in 1998 and it revolutionized first person shooter games forever, introducing gamers to an incredibly immersive world with unique storytelling elements. Small Speedrun Guide

Half-Life requires patience and practice to master its levels as there is often more than one way to complete a level quickly. However, once you have completed each level several times it will become easier to find an optimal path with fewer attempts.

Bhopping - Bunny Hopping

In speedrunning, bhopping refers to the practice of using glitches or exploits within a game's code to skip ahead levels and reach checkpoints more quickly than intended.

Wall Strafing

Wall strafe or simply strafing refers to the practice of rapidly shifting direction by repeatedly pressing a single button while running through an area quickly:

Grenade Jumping

Grenade jumping refers to a glitch that allows players to gain an extra boost of speed by using certain weapons and throwing them at their feet. This technique can be used for quickly traversing large distances within the game world in less time.

This is only a few of the basics that amateur runners use for their speedruns; professionals must also learn advanced strategies to master the game.
